” The Bubba 20 oz travel mug is a real beast of an insulated cup offering the user hot or cold beverages for longer that any mug I’ve used before”
Only recently I converted to using insulated mugs for hot tea, coffee on hikes and camps, up until that I used an array of enamel or tin cups. Feeling somewhat disappointed with drinking cold coffee I began collecting insulated mugs where ever I could, comparing their thermal properties and ease of use. The first mug I used was a typical mug you might see for sale in a petrol station, it certainly kept my coffee warmer longer but it lacked the robust design I was looking for.
Secondly I purchased a retailers own brand one, which looked more the part but had a design issue I was not happy with. So it was back to the drawing board and the search bean to find a more suitable mug which would meet my needs. Already in mid August the long cold nights of winter was not far off, I wanted a mug that would keep a winter beverage as hot as possible and offered the desired robust design.
The Bubba 20 z travel mug is made of Dual wall polyurethane with steel band and foam insulation, which is BPA free. (Epoxy, polycarbonate plastics). The Bubba is fitted with a comfort non-slip handle and boasts a 20 oz capacity. To date I’ve enjoyed hot tea, coffee for up to two hours, which is excellent heat retention.
Another nice feature on the Bubba is the lip plate, which reduces the chance of spilling and directs the beverage towards the mouth. At over seven inches tall and three inches wide it’s quite big but I found I could store my tea or coffee within it. The tough and durable Bubba certainly meets my requirements in providing a robust design.
If like me you enjoy a nice brew in the hills then the Bubba is a good choice. Yes it a bit bulky and if you’re a ” kit weight/space conscious person” then the Bubba is not the choice mug for you. Retailing at around £5 I think it’s a real bargain.
